I’m Tomás.
I research, map and redesign
the parts of organisations that frustrate people the most.
About me
User Researcher and Service Designer with a strong background in systems thinking. My architecture background means I fluent in systems thinking which allows me to understand and solve problems holistically.
I started my career as an architect, but became more interested in how people experienced the buildings than the buildings themselves. That curiosity took me into research and service design.
At Reach plc. I progressed from UX designer to researcher to lead researcher, driving significant impact by redefining core parts of the product and improving our research ways of working and ROI.
After five years driving strategic and tactical initiatives in one of the UK's largest news publishers, I'm now looking for my next role, ideally somewhere with an established team and problems worth getting absorbed in.

Ways of working
Find the right problem
Good design starts by asking the right questions.
I make sure we're solving problems that benefit users and grow the business.
Design the approach
The right method makes the difference between useful insight and wasted effort. I match the approach to the question, not the other way around.
Bring people with you
Good design advocacy isn't about convincing people. It's about creating moments where the answer becomes obvious to everyone in the room.
